Charlotte Cattell as Remy

In this lively interview, Charlotte Cattell opens up about her role as Remy in the web series "Settle Down." From her favorite scenes to her love for outdoor activities and volunteering, Charlotte gives us a glimpse into her life and her process as an actor. She also shares how she connects with her character and offers fans a way to see more of her work.

What's your favorite scene from "Settle Down" and why?

In the final episode, there is a quick advert/shoutout for the "CuddleMate" which gets a little physical comedy callback later in the episode. Picturing the silly prop use along with the clever and punny advertisement writing had me lol-ing. I’m excited to see what the cast gets up to with that bit—gotta love a little absurd prop humor.

How would you describe "Settle Down" to a friend in one sentence?

Relationships and being human can be so embarrassing, but "Settle Down" makes the truth laughable and palatable with a dash of spice. insert sizzle sound effect here

What do you enjoy doing when you're not acting?

I can’t help but write a few! Camping, hiking, and photography are big ones for me, but I’ve also spent years volunteering at an animal shelter. Each activity is so great for lifting my spirit. I’m hoping there may be a little woodworking in my future too!

Do you have any rituals or habits to get into character before a scene?

Ooo, gotta say a well-crafted playlist, and lucky for me Remy has a list of bangers.

Do you see any of yourself in the character you play on the show?

Absolutely! I actually had a little resistance to liking Remy when I first read the script because I was embarrassed with how much I identified with the people-pleasing and love-seeking. But past these surface observations, Remy is direct, emotionally aware and available, and brave as all heck to communicate the way they do. So, you know what, at the end of the day, I think I can bring a lot of truth to Remy’s experience and in return walk away with some lessons in strength.

Where can fans find you online if they want to connect?

At the moment, I am an individual existing without a social media presence, but you can find me and my work via good ol’ IMDb as well as my photography via Linktree @Cattell Clicks Photography.
