Toronto, ON – March 7, 2024
After three captivating seasons, DRAG HEALS is back for its highly anticipated fourth season ready to dazzle audiences once again with its unique blend of heart, soul, and fabulousness. DRAG HEALS will make its season four premiere on April 19th at 9:30pm ET/PT on OUTtv, OUTtv.com and the OUTtv channel on Prime Video and AppleTV+.
The series has recently been nominated for two 2024 Canadian Screen Awards for Best Lifestyle Program or Series and Tracey Erin Smith for Best Host. https://www.academy.ca/nominees/
DRAG HEALS invites viewers on an unforgettable journey into the transformative world of drag, offering an intimate look at the lives of drag artists as they embark on an intensive month-long workshop to craft their own mesmerizing shows. Under the guidance of the esteemed stage director and show host, Tracey Erin Smith, each participant delves deep into their personal narratives, uncovering profound lessons and experiences to share with the world.
Throughout the intensive workshops, participants not only hone their performance skills but also embark on a soul-stirring exploration of their own identities. As they navigate the highs and lows of self-discovery, they emerge as both the pirate and the pirated, the island and the treasure. The resulting shows are not merely performances; they are profound reflections of personal triumphs and tribulations, presented as gifts to the audience.
The season four cast features Callan Forrester as Ana Spiral, Isaiah Doucet as Izzy Limpwrist, Dev Nicoll-Ellis as Devery Bess, Jerico De Jesus as Jeriana ’Sirenn’ Arawan and Anthony Meeks as Avaiyah Curves.
Guest coaches include artist and dancer/choreographer Farra N Hyte (CALL ME MOTHER), drag queen, burlesque performer, and costume designer Lucinda Miu (SEW FIERCE), actor, dancer, writer, and drag artist Lucy Flawless, Choreographer Steven Chau, and the RPM Dance Crew.
"Drag Heals season four features our youngest group of performers yet! These extraordinary individuals reveal untold stories and hidden truths, that lead to powerful transformations,” said Tracey Erin Smith. “This season offers raw emotion and dazzling artistry that will inspire and move you. And...you get to see my Mom play a ukulele!”
“Drag Heals is one of my favourite series that we make at Border2Border Entertainment,” said director Charlie David. “As a director, I’m humbled by the generosity shown by each drag artist by sharing deeply personal
stories that make for an emotionally charged new season. These people are fearless in their honesty and vulnerability and that makes every episode captivating. It’s rare to witness true vulnerability, and when we do - we simply can’t look away. Viewers can expect inspiring resilience, and a celebration of self-discovery unlike anything we've showcased before.”
“We are so proud to have another series of this powerful show for our global audience,” said Phillip Webb, COO at OUTtv. “OUTtv is committed to telling stories which celebrate and recognise the beauty, authenticity and strength of the LGBTQI+ community – and Drag Heals is a wonderful showcase for how diverse and limitless the art of Drag can be.”
DRAG HEALS is more than just entertainment; it is a celebration of resilience, authenticity, and the power of self-expression. Each episode promises to be a rollercoaster of emotions, offering viewers an immersive experience that transcends the boundaries of traditional reality television.
